6 Feel-good movies to watch on Christmas Day

Grab a cup of hot chocolate, preferably with some marshmallows, a cozy blanket, and you’re ready for a feel-good movie night. I love these kinds of movies, especially if they are Christmas-themed. I’ve listed 6 of my favorite feel-good movies perfect to watch on Christmas Day with your close family, online with friends or just on your own.

Noelle

3.5/5 ⭐

When Nick takes over the family business as Santa. The pressure is too much for Nick and Noelle suggests he takes the weekend off. A few days before Christmas Nick still is missing and Noelle has to find him or Christmas is ruined.

Disney+ Original Christmas movie 'Noelle' with Anna Kendrick - Feel-Good movies

I watched this movie at the beginning of the month and I just loved it. Anna Kendrick’s character, Noelle, is so over-the-top Christmas. Some of my favorite lines from her are: ‘Oh my garland!’ and ‘Stocking half empty’. This movie is full of cliché holiday lines, puns and outfits, but that is what gives it its charm.

The Princess Switch

3.5/5 ⭐

One week before Christmas, two young women meet. They look exactly alike, so of course they switch places. A young baker from Chicago becomes the duchess of Belgravia and vice versa.

The Princess Switch with Vanessa Hudgens - Feel-Good Christmas Movies List

It’s a classic story, but with a Christmas twist.  It has Vanessa Hudgens in it not once but twice, and I think she does a great job portraying both characters in this movie. If you are looking for a light-hearted rom-com, The Princess switch is the movie you need!

3/5 ⭐

Abby Reilly, a struggling photographer receives an Advent calendar from her grandfather. On the first day of December the first door opens and a journey full of magic begins.

Netflix Original Christmas Movie 'The Holiday Calendar' with Kat Graham - Feel-Good movies

When I first saw an ad for this movie I couldn’t wait to see it! I was (still am 🤫) a big The Vampire Diaries fan and I loved Kat Graham’s character Bonnie Bennet. The Holiday Calendar is another light-hearted rom-com, and it’s even  worth a watch just because Kat Graham is in it.

The Greatest Showman

5/5 ⭐

P.T. Barnum dreams of something bigger. And when the chance of a lifetime comes knocking on his door, he takes it and opens up his very own circus.

Feel-Good Movie 'The Greatest Showman' with Hugh Jackman - Feel-Good Christmas Movies

Okay, the Greatest Showman is technically not a Christmas movie, but it definitely is a feel-good movie so that’s why it’s on this list. It’s a beautiful musical with amazing songs. ‘Magical’ is the only word I have for it. A must-watch for everyone, even if you don’t normally like musicals.

The story about how a reluctant toy maker became Santa with the help of a selfish postman.

Klaus Netflix Original Christmas movie - - Feel-Good movies

I love a good animated movie, but it isn’t easy to find one that is this good. Klaus tells a unique story with a lot of charm and humorous moments. The design is gorgeous! This is a movie that anyone will love, not just children.

The Holiday

3.5/5 ⭐

When nothing seems to be going right in their lives, Amanda and Iris decide to swap homes over the holidays and see what life will bring on the other side of the Atlantic.

The Holiday - Netflix - Feel-Good Movies

The Holiday is such a classic! This movie has a great story and an even better cast. It’s truly a great rom-com that’s in a way both predictable and different. It’s a predictable story, but on the other hand very different from any other Christmas movies I’ve watched.
