How to prep for the week ahead | My Sunday Reset Routine
My Sunday reset routine is an important part of my weekend. It’s the day I reset and prepare for the week ahead, so I can start fresh on Monday. I can’t live without it anymore!
Why do I have a Sunday reset routine? This routine helps me prepare the important parts of my weekly schedule. I feel more in control and relaxed about the upcoming week, while also having some very important me-time. Balance is key to reset & prep for the week ahead.
Want to have a Sunday reset routine and prep for a great week ahead? Read along to discover the 5 steps to mine.
1. Make a plan for the week
One of the most important parts of my routine is to make a plan for the upcoming week. I don’t make a super detailed schedule, where I pre-plan my week by the hour. Instead, I assign to-do’s to the days of the upcoming week. I use my ‘weekly plan’ Notion template for this. This template gives me an overview of what I have to do the next week.
Besides my weekly to-do’s, I also plan my meals. I need lunches for work, so I plan out what I’m eating for lunch each day in my cooking journal Notion template. I don’t want to waste food, and by planning my lunches I can use up everything I buy and use leftovers in upcoming lunches.
2. Meal prep
After planning my lunches, I meal prep them . Not for the entire week, but enough for the first days. I make my lunch for Monday and Tuesday, and I also prep a breakfast I can eat the rest of the week. Lately, I’ve been enjoying the Chunky Monkey Banana Baked Oatmeal by Ambitious Kitchen. It’s easy to make and can last up to 4 days in the fridge. It’s the perfect breakfast to meal prep for those busy workday mornings.
3. Declutter & clean
A clean space is a clean mind, and that’s why I like to declutter and clean on Sundays. I declutter and clean my bedroom, wash the sheets and I also wash my make-up brushes. This way, everything is clean, organized and set for Monday.
4. Self Tan
Sunday is my self tan day. It’s the perfect day to tan for me because I can let the product sit while checking off the rest of my reset routine. By the time I’m ready with my routine, I can shower off the tanning product. Before I started self tanning, I did an in-dept skin and body care routine with a scrub, nice scented body butter and face mask as my Sunday self-care activity.
5. Take time to unwind
Having a moment to unwind is as important as preparing for the week ahead. Balance is key, especially in your Sunday reset routine. I only feel fully reset and ready for the upcoming week when I’ve had some time for myself by reading a good book or watching a movie or TV show. My me-time activity of this weekend was finishing Stranger Things season 4 volume 1. Did you watch it too? I loved it! And I can’t wait for volume 2.
My Sunday Reset Routine is the perfect way to end the week and start the upcoming one. It makes me feel productive, while also taking time to unwind. Do you have a Sunday Reset Routine?
