How to do a midyear goals check-in | Vision Board Update
So, you’ve made a Vision Board at the beginning of the year. You’ve put a lot of thought in your goals, your pictures, quotes, … but is it still accurate after 6 months? Maybe you’ve already reached some of your goals, or you’ve changed your mind about what you want. A lot can happen in 6 months. Doing a check-in every few months, especially halfway through the year, is a great way to keep up with your goals. Continue reading to do a midyear goals check-in yourself.
Haven’t made a Vision Board yet? No worries, it’s never too late to start. Read here how to create your Vision Board.
Reflect on your Vision Board, Progress and Goals
Get a cup of coffee, grab your Vision Board and take some time to reflect on the goals you set 6 months ago. Do these goals still excite you? What progress did you make towards reaching them? Which ones did you already reach, or which goals need a bit more attention? Write every thought and feeling down, so you have a list you can look back on when you’re going to update your Vision Board.
Celebrate every win
Every win, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. Every step in the right direction is worth celebrating. We tend to only celebrate the big wins, but celebrating the progress is equally important. That progress is a great motivator to keep on going and to keep trying to reach your goals.
I also like to look back on previous Vision Boards, to see how far I’ve already come. Not all progress is visible within one year, so I save my Vision Boards on my laptop and look back on them every once in a while. I’m always amazed at how much my life has changed and at how many goals I’ve reached in such little time. It’s easy to forget the progress. Definitely take your time to celebrate and enjoy it.
Update your Vision Board
After reflecting on your goals and celebrating your wins, it’s time to update your Vision Board. Check-off or update reached goals, replace the ones you don’t longer want to achieve, and adjust the overall look and feel of your Vision Board to your current mindset. A Vision Board is a visual representation of your goals, so looking at it should motivate and excite you. If it doesn’t, it’s time to go back and have another reflection session.
